Don't Make Me Come In There!

Today is a very special day in my life…Mother’s Day! No, I’m not a mother but I am a daughter and a sister to two beautiful women who inspire me. They embody the Proverbs 31 woman:

"She is clothed with strength and dignity, she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is her on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praises her; 'Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.' Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate." Proverbs 31:25-31.

My mom is one of the most important people in my life, not just because she brought me into the world, but because of what she did once I arrived. My mom is a true caregiver. She’s compassionate and giving unlike anyone else I’ve ever met. She strives to provide her children and grandchildren with the best that life has to offer. She sacrifices her time and energy to make sure their needs and wants are provided for. She expects nothing but the best, but provides love and encouragement when the best isn't good enough. She praises their accomplishments and consoles their failures. She carries herself with grace. I'm blessed to have a beautiful, hard-working, loving mother who will always be cheering me on no matter what!

My Momma and Me

My sister is six years older than me, though when we’re together we act much younger than our true ages! My sister has always been a major influence in my life. I have always had reason to look up to her. She is beautiful, inside and out. She is gracious and kind (she gets those qualities from our mom). She loves to enjoy life and the adventure it brings. Her passion can't be dismissed. She's not afraid of a challenge. She has battled more adversity than most women know exists, yet she stands firm in her faith and continues to persevere. She's supportive and understanding. She can laugh at her mistakes and learn from her failures.I'm blessed to have an amazing, kind-hearted sister in my life who exemplifies the true example of a mother, the kind of mother our mom continues to be for us and the kind of mother I hope to be one day.
